This area is known for its famous drive-on beach, one of the few
available in the world. Ormond Beach nickname, the "Birthplace of Speed,"
comes from the turn-of-the-century speed records set here on the beach.
Ormond Beach has areas to suit every need. Some of the beach areas
permit driving; however, northern areas do not.
Palm Coast is home to 19 miles of beaches along the Atlantic Ocean.
The ocean offers an abundance of water activities including surfing,
jet-skiing, water skiing, boating, and freshwater and
deep-sea fishing.
In Ormond Beach and Palm Coast you can have the best of both worlds
with our fabulous beaches and pristine intracoastal. Enjoy walks along
the river or beach, boating, hiking, or visit one of our many nature
parks. There are many parks also ideally suited for children like the
Manatee Parks, Alligator Farm, Zoo's, Marineland and much,

· For a faster pace, venture south to Daytona Beach, where one of the nation's great vacation spots provides entertainment, shopping, dining, a world famous beach and the Daytona International Speedway.
· Located in Palm Coast, the Washington Oaks Gardens State Park preserves 390 acres of Florida's original coastal scenery.
· The Flagler Auditorium houses a main theater that seats up to 1,000 people for drama, music and dance performances.
· Florida's heritage, including its Native American settlements, the Spanish era mission of the 1600s and modern uses of agricultural farming are chronicled at the Florida Agricultural Museum.
